14K Gold Price Announced in Dubai for the First Time
Dubai has officially revealed the price of 14K gold for the first time, with Dubai Jewellery Group setting the rate at Dh301.75 per gram, making it the cheapest gold variant now available in the emirate.
With global gold prices hitting historic highs this year — crossing Dh500 per gram in Dubai and $4,300 per ounce internationally — shoppers have increasingly turned to more affordable options like 18K and 21K jewellery. The introduction of official 14K pricing comes as a response to this rising demand for lower-cost gold jewellery.
Alongside 14K, UAE jewellers also offer 22K, 21K and 18K gold. The new 14K rate will be available in stores next week and will reflect global price movements. Compared to other variants, 14K gold is more than Dh200 cheaper than 24K, which was priced at Dh508.5 per gram over the weekend, and around Dh85 less than 18K.
Is 14K jewellery available in the UAE?
Currently, 14K jewellery is not widely available in the local market. However, several jewellers have begun assessing the possibility of introducing 14K collections due to increasing customer preference for lightweight and affordable designs.
Meena Jewellers’ partner, Vinay Jethwani, noted that customers’ buying patterns are evolving, prompting them to consider 14K options for daily wear and lighter pieces. Malabar Gold & Diamonds also observed a shift toward lifestyle-oriented, lightweight jewellery driven by modern design preferences rather than price alone.
As gold prices continue to rise, the introduction of 14K gold pricing marks a significant development for budget-conscious buyers in the UAE.
