Dubai Launches ‘Mallathon’ to Transform Malls into Fitness Tracks

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has unveiled a unique initiative, turning shopping malls into indoor fitness tracks throughout August. The “Dubai Mallathon” encourages residents to embrace active lifestyles while utilizing familiar spaces in a new way.

Announcing the initiative, Sheikh Hamdan stated on X:
“Today, we launched the ‘Dubai Mallathon’ – an initiative that transforms shopping malls across the city into indoor fitness tracks, encouraging the Dubai community to stay active comfortably and safely during morning hours throughout August. Aligned with the Dubai Social Agenda 33, the initiative places health and wellbeing at the core of daily life.”

He added that the concept aims to inspire the community to incorporate health and fitness into daily routines by making use of spaces they already visit regularly.

As part of the Mallathon, seven key shopping destinations in Dubai will feature dedicated walking and running tracks, including:

  • Dubai Mall
  • Dubai Hills Mall
  • Springs Souk
  • City Centre Deira
  • City Centre Mirdif
  • Mall of the Emirates
  • Dubai Marina Mall

This initiative reflects Dubai’s commitment to promoting healthy living and creating innovative ways for residents to stay active.
