Dubai Indian Expat Wins Dh100,000 in UAE Lottery

Dubai-based Indian expat Rijin John Alexander is celebrating a remarkable surprise after winning Dh100,000 in the UAE Lottery’s Lucky Chance category — despite not checking his tickets for weeks.

Alexander said he was shocked when he received a congratulatory call informing him of the win.
“I have been buying tickets, but I wasn’t checking the results at all,” he said at the UAE Lottery studio. “I got a call in the evening, and someone said ‘congratulations’. I was confused about what was happening.”

Once the news sank in, the unexpected win left him both excited and grateful.
“I thank God, the Almighty, for this surprise,” he said. Calling it a “big prize”, he hopes to use the money meaningfully.
“I would like to start a business. I’m not chasing money. I’m a person who wants to help others. There are many needy people, especially in my country.”

The UAE Lottery is now preparing for a shift as its Lucky Day draw enters a new chapter with updated prize tiers. Residents still have one final chance to enter the current edition of the draw and compete for the Dh100 million grand prize, with the deadline set for Saturday.

Since its launch, the UAE Lottery has produced more than 100,000 winners, distributing over Dh147 million across 25 draws. Among the biggest winners is Indian expat Anilkumar Bolla, who became the first participant to secure the Dh100 million grand prize.
