Ras Al Khaimah Launches Golden Visa for Teachers and School Leaders
The Ras Al Khaimah Department of Knowledge (RAK DOK) has unveiled a Golden Visa programme tailored to private school educators, granting self-sponsored, long-term residency to eligible professionals. This initiative underscores RAK’s commitment to enhancing the education sector and retaining top talent.
Who Can Apply?
The programme targets two categories:
- School Leaders: Principals, vice-principals, and school directors.
- Teachers: All qualified educators currently employed in RAK’s private schools.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Residency & Employment: Minimum of three years in Ras Al Khaimah.
- Educational Qualifications: Advanced degree (master’s or PhD), certified by the UAE Ministry of Education if earned abroad.
- Contributions to School Performance: Evidence of improving school ratings or positive impacts on education quality.
Specific Criteria
School Leaders:
- Demonstrated improvement in school performance (e.g., from ‘acceptable’ to ‘good’).
- Endorsement letter from the school’s board of governors.
Teachers: Must meet at least three of the following:

How to Apply
Educators must submit documents such as an appointment letter, proof of qualifications, and evidence of contributions to school performance to the RAK DOK for eligibility review. Once approved, educators can visit the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP) for visa processing.
Key Benefits
The Golden Visa extends to family members (spouse, parents, and children), enabling long-term residency. Notably, school administrators are excluded, focusing solely on those in teaching and leadership roles.
“This initiative honours educators’ pivotal role in shaping the future of Ras Al Khaimah’s education system,” said Dr. Abdulrahman Al Naqbi, RAK DOK board member. “It fosters innovation, talent retention, and the continued success of our students.”
With a streamlined two-week review process and no application fee, this programme exemplifies RAK’s dedication to building a world-class education system.
