How to apply for private party permit in Abu Dhabi
If you plan to host a party in Abu Dhabi—whether for a birthday, graduation, or any other celebration—you’ll need to obtain a private party permit. This permit can be applied for by the registered company organizing the event, such as restaurants, hotels, or event planners in the UAE.
The application process is straightforward and can be done online through the Tamm portal. After logging in, submitting the required documents, and paying the applicable fees, your permit will be processed within three working days. Here’s what you need to know:
Required Documents
- A detailed letter outlining the activities of the event
- A contract or No Objection Certificate (NOC) between the event organizer and venue owner
- A valid passport or Emirates ID
Fees
- Monthly fee for each entertainer: Dh500
- Private party permit request fee: Dh350
- 10% of the ticket fee if tickets are sold
Important Points to Remember
- Special permits are needed if alcohol will be served, particularly for venues without a special license.
- Attendees must be at least 21 years old if the event is hosted at nightclubs or bars.
- Entertainer permits are required for performances (e.g., singers, artists). These can be issued for one to six months, or a temporary seven-day permit for unlimited entertainers is available.
- Ticket sales at private parties are only permitted if the event is organized by an official event organizer.
- Weddings, engagement celebrations, and condolence ceremonies do not need a permit.
Note that separate applications are needed for any speakers or entertainers in addition to the private party permit.
