Air India Express launches Dh1 extra baggage offer for GCC-India flights
Air India Express has introduced a festive season offer allowing passengers flying from Gulf countries to India to add 10kg of extra baggage for just Dh1. The special promotion applies to bookings made until October 31 for travel up to November 30, across routes from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, and Qatar.
According to PP Singh, Regional Manager – Gulf, Middle East and Africa, the airline understands the needs of Indian travellers returning home for Diwali and other festive celebrations, often carrying gifts for their families.
However, the offer comes with one key condition — the additional baggage must be purchased at the time of booking and cannot be added later once the ticket has been issued.
The offer arrives as UAE–India airfares surge by 30–40%, driven by limited seat availability and increased seasonal demand. Air India Express is also expected to temporarily adjust its winter schedule, reducing flight frequencies to South India until the summer schedule resumes in March.
