IIM Ahmedabad Opens Global Campus in Dubai

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, inaugurated the first international campus of the prestigious Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) at Dubai International Academic City, part of TECOM Group PJSC.

Strengthening UAE–India Educational Partnership

The launch marks a historic milestone as IIMA expands its academic presence beyond India for the very first time. Sheikh Hamdan welcomed the institute’s entry into Dubai, highlighting how it reflects the strong and evolving ties between the UAE and India.

Guided by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that Dubai is rapidly positioning itself as a global hub for talent, innovation, and entrepreneurship. He noted that by empowering youth with knowledge, skills, and values suited to an ever-changing world, the emirate is preparing the next generation to lead with confidence.

Part of Dubai’s Economic and Education Vision

Sheikh Hamdan stressed that attracting leading institutions such as IIMA aligns with Dubai’s broader development strategies, including the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and the Education 33 Strategy. These initiatives aim to elevate Dubai’s global standing in education, innovation, and economic growth.

Flagship Programmes and Centres of Excellence

In its first academic year, IIMA Dubai will roll out its flagship one-year, full-time MBA programme, designed for professionals and aspiring leaders across the region.

The campus will also feature two specialized centres of excellence:

• Case Writing and Development Centre – dedicated to creating region-specific business case studies.
• Startup Incubation Centre – focused on fostering innovation and supporting entrepreneurs in Dubai’s fast-growing startup ecosystem.

The establishment of IIMA’s Dubai campus not only strengthens the emirate’s education sector but also positions it as a magnet for global students, researchers, and innovators.
