UAE Expands Visa-on-Arrival for Indian Nationals to Six More Countries

Starting February 13, 2025, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will offer visa-on-arrival to Indian nationals holding valid visas, residence permits, or Green Cards from six additional countries—Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada.

Previously, this privilege was limited to Indian travelers with valid documentation from the United States, the United Kingdom, and European Union member states. The expansion, confirmed by the UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP), aims to strengthen business and travel ties between India and the UAE.

To qualify, travelers must present an ordinary Indian passport with at least six months of validity and pay the applicable visa fees. The 14-day visa-on-arrival costs Dh100, with an option to extend for another 14 days at Dh250. A 60-day visa is also available for Dh250.

This initiative is expected to facilitate smoother travel for Indian citizens and their families, providing greater opportunities to explore tourism, employment, and residency in the UAE. It also aligns with the UAE’s broader strategy to attract global talent and entrepreneurs, reinforcing its position as a leading business and tourism hub.

India and the UAE also share a visa exemption agreement for diplomatic and official passport holders, allowing visa-free stays of up to 90 days. The latest decision further strengthens bilateral relations and encourages skilled professionals and entrepreneurs to explore new opportunities in the region.
