New Passport Fees for Indians in UAE Effective from July 1

Indian Passport Fees in UAE have officially increased from July 1, 2026, following a revision announced by the Government of India. The updated fee structure applies to all passport services offered through the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi, the Consulate General of India in Dubai, and all Indian Consular Application Centres (ICACs) across the UAE.

The revised charges cover fresh passport applications, renewals, Tatkaal services, lost or damaged passports, Police Clearance Certificates (PCC), and several other consular services.

New Indian Passport Fees in UAE

The updated charges for adult passport applications are as follows:

The revised fee represents a significant increase compared to the previous rates and is part of India’s effort to standardise passport charges across its missions worldwide.

Charges for Lost or Damaged Passports

Applicants applying for a replacement passport due to loss or damage will pay higher fees.

Passport Fees for Minors

Children below 18 years of age will also be subject to the revised fee structure.

Discount for Young Children

A 10% discount is available for fresh passport applications for children up to 8 years of age.

Discounted charges are:

  • Normal Passport: AED 295
  • Tatkaal Passport: AED 700

The discount applies only to fresh passport applications and does not cover passport renewals or reissues.

Several other passport-related services have also seen a fee revision.

Emergency Certificates and Certificates of Identity are not available under the Tatkaal service.

Passport Validity

The notification also confirms the validity period for Indian passports:

  • Adults (18 years and above): Up to 10 years
  • Minors: Five years or until the child turns 18 years of age, whichever is earlier

Additional Charges

Applicants should note that the above fees do not include:

  • Service charges collected by the outsourced service provider
  • Indian Community Welfare Fund (ICWF) contribution

These additional charges will be payable separately wherever applicable.

Why Have Passport Fees Increased?

The revised passport charges form part of the Government of India’s initiative to standardise passport service fees across Indian diplomatic missions worldwide. The latest revision is the first major fee update in nearly 14 years, with the previous revision having taken place in 2012.

The revised fee structure also coincides with the rollout of the new outsourced consular service provider across the UAE from July 1, 2026.
